A lot of people requested me if the current design I was using for my blog was available as a template to download. Since I want my design to remain unique, I’ve been meaning to release a free wordpress theme. But due to the lack of time, it’s still very much only on paper. I was pretty impressed by the theme released by Bartelme (help from Ilemoned). So I decided to create a few mods for it in lighter shades of colors. I am not a fan of dark colors and themes; I feel lighter colors give the text more readability, which is important for blogs. I got a little help from bartlme he was kind enough to provide the original Photoshop source file, But I had to rework quite a few design elements since the original source did not preserve most of the layers that I required.
While the themes released by bartlme were labeled as “Fresh” and “Dark” I decided to name the theme “Clean“.
Therefore I present you with The “Clean” Free Wordpress Theme. “Clean” is a fluid Three column Wordpress Theme/Template. The theme has been tested on WordPress 2.1.3 with Firefox and Safari, and IE. It validates as XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2.0, and supports the following plugins:
Clean comes in two flavors. You can see the demos here or click the links below.
Clean [Monochrome] Wordpress Theme.

Clean [Bluehaze] Wordpress Theme.

Here is the ChangeLog for the Theme listing all the changes that I made compared to the original theme.
- SEO Optimized
- Removed Powered By WordPress footer and Header meta tags (Reduces Spam)
- Uncluttered the Footer
i.e. Replaced Links with Favicons - Changed A Few Icons
- Added tabs instead of links for the menu
I plan to support more plugins and add support for widgets in the next release. Currently I have not decided whether to start a forum or not. My friend Voizd says its useless(difficult) to run a forum when you are running a blog. I am still undecided on which forum software to use. I am tempted to use bbpress like my friend Kanak. I am exploring Various Forums softwares like Punbb and Vanilla too.
The Themes are released under the GPL License you’ll find a copy inside the theme Directory. I would appreciate it if you leave the links in the footer intact.

Wow ! I am going to check it out
