How to get Dofollow Links from Hubpages
Hubpages is a pretty good source to get quality backlinks along with some decent traffic from direct search engines as well as from other hubs which are ranking high in search engines through tagging system.
But the links of your hubpage will remain nofollow unless your profile score is higher then that of 75. Once you reaches that score, the links will become dofollow. Hubpages has done this to avoid people creating spammy pages and to give more value to genuine hub builders. Now getting a profile hubscore of 75 is not that difficult as you think it is. Here are some of the tips to make the links of your hubs on hubpages as dofollow -
SEO for Yahoo
Ranking for yahoo is one of the most difficult among all the big three search engines, mostly for the reason of yahoo being very passive. In the process of avoiding spam, yahoo results looks to be way outdated and lacks fresh content and you can easily see this by searching yahoo for various current long tail keywords.
SEO Effect of Registering Domains for Longer Period
Yesterday I was working on a draft about SEO tips for yahoo (hopefully I can finish it in few hours) and one thing which was popping every time was that people strongly believes about yahoo that domains which are registered for more than a year i.e. domains which are not going to expire in a year are more likely to rank well, provided all other metrics being same.
The Problem with SEO Books
Well I have read some decent number of SEO books (when I had started I had too much time in hand and I used to think its good to read ebooks) as well as have spent hundreds of dollars (may be more than thousand) in the past 3 years (earlier being naive and then later being curious) to know the secrets of SEO, Link and traffic building and after spending so much money and time, I can safely say that almost 80% of them are useless and do not even deliver what they promise and were only put by the writer to make money. For the rest 20% which deliver what they promise, 19% gives only generic information. So you read it, feel good about it and after that, you forget about it.
Keyword Discovery is better than WordTracker
Sometime back I had made a list of Keyword Research Tools where I had put Google Adwords, Keyword Discovery and Wordtracker at same position. Now anyway who has used all three will easily put google adwords tool way better then any of the other keyword tools available in the market but what about the second best ?

This is a personal review Post rather then something related to SEO so you guys can skip it, if you want
So 2008 is about to end in few hours time and this was my first year working full time. It was full of ups and downs and though I certainly could not achieve most of my goals, I can certainly take lot of positives from my failures and inability to perform better. Not to mention, the enormous amount of knowledge which I had acquired in past 12 months. Since the first year is always the hardest, I guess I did alright and will certainly do better in 2009. Here are some of the things which I have learned in 2008 (I am just writing as they are popping in mind)
SEO for Subdomains and subdirectories
Matt Cutts had made this post a year back about the importance of subdomains and subdirectories as far as SEO is concerned and how Google is now treating them.
I felt to cover the same topic after one year of that post to see what the ground reality is. Now it is commonly acknowledged (and you can verify it by searching various webmaster SEO forums) that google still do not treat sub domains as sub directories.
