A wonderful recipe for making a mocktail with apples, carrots and cabbage. An easy made, high nutritious drink. Try this once and you will never stop drinking this. You can also try the same recipe with different vegetables of your taste.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium sized apple.
- 5 carrots.
- 1/2 pound cabbage.
- 1 celery stick.
- 1 teaspoon honey.
- a pinch of blackpepper.
- a pinch of salt
Procedure:
- Wash and cut the apple by removing the seeds. Don’t peel off the skin.
- Wash the vegetables thoroughly and cut them into small pieces.
- First, add the celery in the juicer and grind it.
- Then add the vegetables.
- Grind them and finally add the apples.
- Take out the juice and add black pepper, honey and salt to taste.
- You can have this directly or by seasoning it with grated carrots.

Mocktail is a mixture of fruit juices and vegetable juices. Mocktails are good for health and they possess a very high nutritional value from both the vegetables and fruits.

These days, people prefer buying bottled fruit juices instead of fresh fruits. The main reason is that, bottled juices doesn’t require the hazzle of washing the fruits, cutting, grinding and filtering. It is an instant drink which can be carried while you travel unlike fresh fruit extracts that would get spoiled in few hours if not refridgerated. Most of these bottled juices even tastes better than fresh fruit juices. But, is the nutritional aspect of bottled juice better than fresh one? Well….the answer is “No. Definitely not”.

Juices extracted from clean, fresh fruits have a very high nutritional values than bottled juice. All these bottled juices have an expiry date on it. Inorder to preserve the juice until that expiry date, some preservatives are added to bottled juices. Also, artificial colors and artificial flavors are added to make the juice look and smell more attractive. These, preservatives and artificial flavors hold no nutritional benefits and would infact kill the enzymes thereby reducing the benefits of fruit extracts present in it.
Spending a couple of minutes to prepare fresh fruit extracts is definitely worth the time. Since, it helps you get the complete nutritional benefits of the fruits and lead a healthy life.
